Half day Nubian Museum
- Nubian Museum: The Nubian Museum elegantly displays many artifacts of Nubia, known in ancient times as the “Land of Gold”, from prehistory through to the present day. Helpful descriptions in English explain step-by-step such feats as the relocating of 18 Nubian temples to save them from the waters of Lake Nasser. The Nubians’ unique cultural heritage, so vital in the history of Egypt, is preserved and promoted here in this $ 20 million museum.
Half day Nubian Village
- See a traditional Nubian Village, wander through the narrow alleys between the colorful mud-brick dwellings, and enter a typical home. Take note of the doorways, as many are carved with crocodiles at the floor, fish in the middle and a man on top. The Ka’aba, the sacred black cube of Mecca, is also painted on some housefronts to show the owner has been on the hajj. Relax for a few moments, settle in to enjoy tea with a Nubian family and share the timeless Egyptian custom of friendship.

Luxor Museum: This elegant modern museum boasts a fabulous collection of artifacts from Thebes including pottery, jewelry, furniture and other artifacts from the ancient city. A recent addition to the exhibits is the cache of 22 magnificent New Kingdom statues, found in 1989 buried beneath Luxor Temple.
